At Taptonholme we endeavour to
provide a caring environment in which the 18 residents can live as independent
a life as possible. We respect their age and personal dignity and do our best
to create a friendly and cheerful atmosphere in which they can feel safe and
valued.
History and Management
Taptonholme is a large Victorian House situated in the pleasant suburb of
Broomhill. It was opened in 1947 as a home for retired people. It is a Registered
Charity which is completely independent and relies entirely upon its own resources
for its funding.
The Charity is run by a board of trustees who have the appropriate skills
to manage the finances, the building and the human resources issues. Any surplus
income, after providing for prudent reserves, is ploughed back into the Home
to enhance its facilities. The day to day operation of the Home is supervised
by an experienced Manager who reports to the Chairman of the Trustees.
Taptonholme is regularly inspected by The Commision for Social Care Inspection
who ensure that high standards of care and health are maintained.
